Can we develop materials that reduce dependence on both food resources and fossil resources?
World Food Day | Bio-based Materials Don’t Have to Compete with Food Resources

When we talk about sustainability, one important question is worth asking:
Can we develop materials that reduce dependence on both food resources and fossil resources?
🌱 Bio-based materials don’t always come from food crops.
BEIANDE® 7267E Bio-based Transparent PA is made using renewable feedstock derived from castor seeds, a non-food crop.
By exploring non-food plant-based resources, we can diversify the feedstocks used in material production and reduce reliance on food crops. This is one of the meaningful opportunities offered by bio-based materials.
🌿 Non-food feedstock can also lead to materials for demanding applications.
It is important to distinguish between the source of a raw material and the safety of the final material.
BEIANDE® 7267E is not made simply by using castor seeds or castor oil directly in a finished product. Plant-derived feedstock undergoes chemical processing to produce a high-performance polymer.
The origin of the feedstock alone does not determine the safety of the final material. BEIANDE® 7267E has supporting documentation for infant food-contact applications, providing a basis for evaluating its use in products such as baby bottles, subject to the applicable requirements and conditions of use.
Choosing non-food crop feedstock does not mean compromising on material performance or food-contact requirements.
🌍 From renewable feedstock to applications for the next generation
BEIANDE® 7267E combines bio-based sourcing with the performance and clarity of transparent polyamide, offering another material option for applications such as baby bottles.
Our goal is not simply to change where materials come from. It is to explore more diverse renewable resources while continuing to address the performance and food-contact requirements of the final application.
This World Food Day, let’s consider how materials innovation can help make better use of available resources.
More diverse feedstocks. High-performance materials. A better future for the next generation.
